So What Wednesday

Linking up with the ever fabulous Shannon to say So What!

So What Wednesday

So what that this has been week 3 of "there isn't enough work to keep me busy" at work. I'm getting caught up on my blog reading.

So what that I didn't take out anything for dinner tonight. Pasta it is! Sorry Hubby, I know it's not your favorite.

So what that my son got a wiffle yesterday by complete accident. It's just hair and it will grow back.

So what if the boy sleeps with a stupid squishy next pillow everynight, and I have to detach it from him before I go to sleep. He looks so damn cute with it!

So what if I have fallen off the Candy Crush bandwagon. I was getting way to frustrated not being able to pass levels.

....someone has turned into a big boy

It has happened. My little baby has become a big boy. After much debate and tears (on my part) we finally made the transition on Saturday to a big boy bed.
My Husband came home a day last week and told me that a friend of ours had offered us an almost brand new twin bed to give to the boy.
I told him I didn't want it. He wasn't ready (I wasn't ready). The Husband told me that I was being ridiculous, and that we were picking up the bed on Saturday.
We talked about the bed all week. Got the boy all excited and prepared. Saturday morning ,after a nice breakfast out, we went and picked out his new bedding.

(To say he loved it, is an understatement)

When we got home, it was time for his last nap in his crib. As I put him down, I felt like his little life flashed in my eyes. My little boy was no longer a baby. He was growing up. He was really coming into his own, and there was nothing I could do at that moment to stop it. I hugged him tighter than I usually did, tried to savor that last moment. He pulled away and said "I tired Mommma, night", and laid himself down.

As I walked out of his room I smiled and told myself this was the first of many times that he would be a "big boy", and that he will always be my baby.

When he woke up, we went to pick up his bed. He was more than excited. He loved looking at all of the pieces and couldn't wait for it to be all set up. Once all the bedding was on (and stuffed animals, blankets, Tick Tock Crock flashlight) he was ready to jump on in and test it out.

  (HE LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!)

He did great sleeping in his bed on Saturday night. No problems, no getting up, nothing. We explained to him that he had to call us when he woke up in the morning, and when we came into his room, he could get out of bed.
Wanna know how he woke us up on Sunday? By kicking his wall yelling "I'm uuuuuuuuupppppppppp Mooooooom Daddddddddaaaaaa I'm upppppppppp"

AWESOME. Oh and it was 6:23.

By the time nap hour rolled around on Sunday, he was exhausted, but there was no nap. It was 2 hours of putting him back into his bed, telling him not to jump on his bed, going to time out, over and over and over.

Needless to say, there was no nap to be had. Bedtime however? Bedtime went perfectly just like the first night.

And this morning, I heard him call for me. When I went in to tell him he could get out of bed, he was sitting there legs crossed on the edge of the bed.

"I wistened Momma, I waited for you".

Melt my heart my big boy!!
